Man believed drowned in canal

A MAN was last night feared drowned in a Highland canal.
The man, thought to be in his late 20s, was with a friend on the banks of the Caledonian Canal in Inverness yesterday afternoon when he went into the water to swim at the Muirtown Basin. He got into difficulties and disappeared. His friend tried to rescue him but also got into difficulties.
