AN IRAQI man who bombarded a 14-year-old couple with sexual questions has been fined £500 and placed on the sex offenders register.
Bassim Abdul Maabood, 49, approached the boy and his girlfriend as they sat on a public bench in Beauly, Inverness-shire, on the night of 1 April.

They became concerned about the way the conversation was going and walked away. The boy told his parents what had happened and the police were contacted.

At Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday, Maabood admitted a breach of the peace. The court heard he was working for a US engineering firm and was due to leave Britain soon.
