THE four political groups on Highland Council have joined forces to press for a review of the Crown Estate in Scotland and have its millions of pounds of income used better for communities.
Leaders of the ruling SNP-Independent coalition, as well as Liberal Democrats and Labour, have signed an agreement to press for changes to current policy and operations of the Crown Estate. The estate owns about half the foreshore around the Scottish coastline, but it is thought more control is needed due to its importance to fish farms and the development of offshore renewables.

Drew Hendry, the SNP group leader, said: "We are calling for this change to help return vital benefits to rural folk."

On the matter of the Crown Estate, anything and everything in Scotland controlled by them should be handed over to the elected Scottish Government, along with any revenues.

#2 Ard Righ.

I knew all about the so-called English, actually German, royalty, and about their Nazi links. I didn't know though that this Treason Felony Act of 1848 still existed.

They would be hard pushed enforcing it though as they would have to end up gaoling the majority of the Scottish people, at least half the people in Northern Ireland, probably a good percentage of the Welsh people, and have to try and extradite a large percentage of the population of a lot of their former colonies such as Australia and America. They might even have to gaol a fair number of the English.

This stupid establishment Act seems to me to be a breach of Article 1.2 of the United Nations Charter, and a breach of Article 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and probably a breach of some EU laws as well. It is about time they scrapped it.

Anyway, regardless of whether they do or not, I think that, as soon as Scotland becomes independent, we should get shot of that bunch of Germanic parasites and become a republic.

3.

"and become a republic"

Under 'Chairman Guga' presumably , or have you another idea for how we should select the best -least politically motivated -person for the top job... ?

This definition must by its nature exclude Chairman Gordon , Chairman Nicola or Chariman Alex for there is no doubt that Scotland would be far worse off were transient politically inspired figureheads ever appointed head of State.

Basically which is better - an inherited idiot with little power or an elected idiot with little power?

Keep the Royals, with their expenses and tax breaks trimmed down, as this will still be cheaper than running election campaigns for president.

3 a Great deal was handed over in 1997, but you don't hear about it.
