Child assaulter escapes jail

A BABYSITTER who attacked a child in her care escaped a jail sentence yesterday.
Jamie Smith, 20, of Nairn, left the three-year-old boy with bruises across his bottom and lower back. Smith was sentenced to 80 hours community service, at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
