Care worker abuse charges
A CARE-HOME worker yesterday denied placing oversized false teeth in an elderly resident's mouth and likening him to the racehorse Red Rum.
Janet Cameron, 42, is to face trial on charges of assaulting and abusing five residents at the Southside Nursing Home in Inverness.
One case alleges she "cruelly and unnaturally" treated resident Robert Wilson, or committed an alternative charge of breach of the peace, by placing oversized false teeth in his mouth, laughing at him and likening him to Red Rum.
Cameron's lawyer, Marc Dickson, lodged not-guilty pleas as his client appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
