HOMELESS charity Shelter Scotland has welcomed the launch of the Homeowner Mortgage Support scheme.
The scheme, which was launched by the Government on Tuesday, is aimed at helping borrowers facing income cuts avoid repossession.

Director of Shelter Scotland, Graeme Brown, said: "With half a million households expected to be more than three months in arrears this year, the launch of the HMS scheme is a significant step forward because it genuinely has the potential to help tens of thousands of struggling homeowners."
