BUNNY Girls and a bride and groom were among the hardy revellers plunging into the icy waters of the Firth of Forth for the New Year's Day Loony Dook at South Queensferry.
Around 500 people in fancy dress braved rain and freezing fog to take part in the 22nd annual charity event held near the Forth Rail Bridge.

Katrina Henderson, from Falkirk, one of the seven-strong bunny group who raised £450 for the Mouth Cancer Foundation, said: "I'm not even feeling cold – I suppose the less you wear when you come out of the water, the warmer you are when you get some clothes on."

Jonathan and Helen Briggs, from Edinburgh, who married two days before the dook, donned duplicate wedding outfits to mark the occasion.

You'd think the last thing newlyweds would want to do is cool their passion with a cold dip. However, I suppose the fun of rekindling the flame will make it all worthwhile.

The dook was fantastic, some great costumes on show and a magic atmosphere. As normal there's one sure fire way to get your pic in the papers, lol. If anyone has any other pics or stumbles across websites with pics other than bunny girls would love to see them.

I would like to thank the Bunny girls for raising funds for the Mouth Cancer Foundation. My husband is from Glasgow and at the age of 42 was last year diagnosed with Mouth Cancer.

Thankyou girls for raising awareness at the Loony Dook.
