HILLARY Clinton formally throws in the towel on her presidential bid today, as millions of voters still wonder – just what does she want?
Mrs Clinton's supporters, led by her husband, are pushing hard for Barack Obama to name her as his vice-president, the so-called Dream Ticket that would bring her blue-collar white voters on board.

But the Dream Ticket could be a nightmare, Mr Ob
ama's supporters fear. Neither he nor Mrs Clinton have concealed the mutual loathing that built up over a long and bruising campaign, and Republican John McCain will pounce on any split. The same antagonism could also rule her out of a senior cabinet post.

On the heels of Mrs Clinton's private meeting with Mr Obama in Washington yesterday – of which few details have emerged – there is renewed speculation that her greatest motive for today's endorsement could actually be money.

The Clinton campaign is estimated to be £10-15 million in debt, including a loan of £6 million of her own money. Mrs Clinton may be hoping Mr Obama will campaign with her for donors to pay off this debt.

Mr Obama himself has kept tightlipped on his VP choice. "We want to catch our breath, we want to take stock of where we are," he said yesterday. "I will make my decision in the weeks to come." The smart money says he will refuse to consider Clinton seriously.

She could try and persuade the party to make her the new leader of the Democratic controlled Senate – but she faces stiff competition.

An ambassadorship, top Nato post or freewheeling foreign envoy are baubles that Mr Obama might offer, but carry only limited prestige and would take her out of the political mainstream.

Here's what Hilary should do:

She owes allegedly $30 million in campaign debts. She should focus on paying those bills. I know - she could
write a book called "How to Completely Blow a Presidential Campaign Through Hubris, Incompetence and Not Thinking Ahead." Then each of her 18 million voters could buy a copy and she could pay that debt, have money left over to donate to Obama. After all, she always said her main goal was to get the Republicans out of the White House. She's a team player isn't she???

Seriously, her husband makes about $12 million a year by giving speeches and other business deals. I think he has some shady deals to swing that. Letting these people (Clintons) into government is an invite to corruption.

Agreed, just like Obama and his corrupt buddies like Rezko.

A search for "Juanita Broaddrick" gives many more articles.

Nice try, Hillary, but the USA needs a person of vision and intellect, a man who has roots in several
cultures, hopefully connecting us to the world we have
neglected. Unless the spoilers in our country have their way, I believe we stand on the verge of some
very positive changes for all working Americans.

We need good jobs back in the USA, health care at least equal to the politicians' health coverage, who attempt to keep it for themselves only and call the same plan "socialist" when it applies to the rest of us. We need to rebuild faith in ourselves and to restore the world's faith in us as responsible actors
on a world stage.

Obama appears to have the vision and the intellect to guide us through these difficult times. His lack of so-called "experience" is a joke;
it is this very "experience" that our leaders have had that got us all into the muddle that we find ourselves in at present. We need a pragmatic leader who will actually listen to advice, with a keen mind to process the information, unlike our experience of the last eight years. We need an end to the infantile concept of "not speaking with enemies." We need to ENGAGE with the rest of the world, express our views and listen to theirs. Dropping "freedom" on our friends and enemies obviously does not work ! We are quickly losing our grip on everything we hold dear and Obama appears to be the unique personality guiding us back to our senses.

Get the baffies on, feet up and watch daytime TV. When bored borrow an idea from another failed politician's wife and write your memoirs. and I'm sure there'll be a few bodies to be dug up there before hers too hits the remainder box. Enjoy already massive wealth and pay the bills. Not too bad eh?

it is like one of those god awful old westerns where the man who gets shot agonises for a great period, droaning on and spluttering out exclamations of disbelief. Its gotta be the longest political death in history, but after what Bill Clinton drzagged her throw with the lewinsky affair we cannot be suprised that she has tough skin and doesn't know when to leave!

Does this mean we will no longer have to see this woman on tv and listen to her drivvel?. Something good has happened today then.

If it were that simple. . . . I would be president, or you, for that matter ! Is it so hard for us to acknowlege intelligence when we hear it ?

Obama has the uncanny ability to "think on his feet,"
as well as follow a predetermined script. Let's face it, the guy is intelligent, personable and focused.
How was his campaign ? Can you imagine what odds have been against this guy in a (still) quite racist America ? And yet. . . .he is the front-runner !
More than speech-writing, indeed !

Kelvin..Obama stutters and stammers when there is no teleprompter in front of him and when Mrs. Clinton isn't there answering the question before he does.
He has no vision. He has yet to tell us how he plans to change to that "vision" that you keep talking about.
He and his wife are racists, and he was pushed on us with this love fest for him that media had going.
In time, we will find out more about him, his associates, his lack of experience, and his affinnity for Muslims. You will see..read his book.

Sean Hannity rolled a tape of countless mistakes that idiot Obama said, stumbling over words, saying the wromg States & Countries, ect, ect. It seemed to go on forever.

The I love Obama media does not ever mention his mistakes like the would if Hillary or McCain would. You are correct, without a telepromter Barrack H. Obama is clueless.

#13 yeah you're right obama just dosen't have the same elegant way with words as a proper president like bush eh? although i think you might be misunderestimating him.
him and his wife are racists? a pretty strong chrge for which there is zero evidence (although the structures of the american state are certainly racist, ditto the current president leaving african americans to die in new orleans, and from his policy in iraq and pronouncements on israel it's pretty clear he thinks arab lives are worthless compared to euro-american ones).
'affinity for muslims'? you're such a weirdo.

You are such a racist for saying such an awful lie like that about Bush. Anyone that knows anything thing about how the laws work here in the United States know that the Governor of Louisiana was responsible for the after math of Hurricane Katrina and that is why the voters threw out Blanko that worthless Democrat. The wise people of Louisiana voted in Republican Bobby Jindal who has turned the State around and hopefully will react much better if a Hurricane strikes like neighboring States like Mississippi did who had a competent Governor when the storms struck.

Only misinformed idiots like you point the blame in the wrong direction. The FEDS poured way too much money into New Orleans and the local Democrats mis spent it.

#13 Lynne,

I just watched Hillary's speech . She is phenomenal. She can speak brilliantly with or without a teleprompter. In fact, she rarely uses one, preferring notes.

As you rightly point out, woithout a telelprompter, Obama is lost. Not only is he completely unable to think on his feet-at any pace- he also can't remember what he said the day before.

Lynne,

we the people.#15 ..you do not know what the heck you ae talking about...as ususal. Firstly Hurricane Katrina problems were caused by a Mayor who did nothing about evacuating the city, and a Gov. who waited around before asking for help. It was not the fault of Bush..
Obama and his wife belonged to a church that only preached hate, and everything was the fault of the whites. Their allegiance is to Africa, and their mission is the Black Liberation Theology. 20 Years he sat and listened to a firebrand pastor that has no love for whites.
He only left the church after that pastor retired, and was replaced by another pastor preaching the same thing. When another pastor, a visiting pastor..went off the deep end mocking Clinton and mentioning race in his tirade, THEN AND ONLY THEN did this paragon of morals decide to leave that church.
His policy on Israel..lets see, I live in Florida, and the Jews in Florida do not like him, or trust him. They refused to be used by him for his convenience. No one believes what he has said, because no one has heard about his "changes" or anything else. He is a smooth talker..PERIOD..nothing more.

From Barack's book, Audacity of Hope:

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly
direction."
HE DID NOT SAY STAND WITH AMERICANS!!!!!

I watched Hillary also...she is a lady. I do not think she will be VP..I may be wrong, but I don't think he wants her.

There's a mountain of hype about Obama right now. By August this impostor will be toast. By October the Dems will be trying to replace him with Hillary the way they replaced Torricelli in New Jersey half way through the campaign.

Hillary and Obama both attended this years Bilderberg (Secret Meeting Of World Leaders) conference, she got their orders. They (some members of bilderberg) have funded Obama all the way.

Since it's doubtful you are an American, your use of the term, we the people, is repulsive. Do you have any idea at all how stupid your comments are? I doubt it because that, in and of itself, would require double digit brain cells.

Look, dumbass, the Federal government is forbidden to intervene in the type of disaster you are referring to. In order for the Federal government to send aid and assistance, the local authorities must request aid from the state and the state must then, FORMALLY, request aid from the Federal government. Then and only then may the Feds step in. The culprits in this case were the incompetent mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana. You should have known this. Try to do a little research before you run your ignorant mouth.
