Ian Aylies, 27, graphic designer, Morningside, lists his top five places to paint in Edinburgh:
The Crags, Arthur's Seat There are so many views, but it is an impressive landscape from just about any angle.

Waverley Station It's a startling building in itself, and there's always plenty of interesting scenes to draw.

Princes Street Gardens Very peaceful, and surrounded by great scenery, as well as being a great place to people-watch.

The Forth Bridge A really beautiful structure to draw, and there are superb views from South Queensferry.

Edinburgh Zoo Painting the animals can be a real challenge, but it's always fun.
