HEARTS manager Csaba Laszlo has made his first signing after the club agreed a deal with Uganda international David Obua.
As exclusively revealed by the Evening News on Friday, Laszlo had been in talks with the left-sided player, whom he had worked with during his spell as manager of the African nation.

The club announced that the 24-year-old's signing was subject to a medical and a work permit.

Obua, who has represented his country 22 times, has already begun training with his new team-mates.

The player, who plays left-back or in midfield, joins from South African side Kaizer Chiefs, who he moved to following a three-year spell in the US.

Promises to be a worthwhile signing. Left midfield/back who according to Wikipedia scored a hat-trick at international level - sounds good to me. Let's hope there are no work permit complications as there have been in the past.

I hear Hibs and Sellick were interested too until they realised it was spelt Obua and not O'Bua ;o)

Got to agree good stuff, interesting that Csaba is on the verge of signing up his assistant a good move in more ways than one, the only problem is who's checking on the UK availability of players, we need more British style players to compete in the SPL.

C'mon the Gorgie !!
