A SCOTTISH Parliament researcher, who briefed MSPs on living donors and watched a live transplant operation, had to have his own transplant operation.
The two surgeons, who Jude Payne reportedly watched in action in 2006, would later operate on him and his mother when he received a new kidney.

Mr Payne, 34, felt unwell and collapsed just weeks after getting married. His mother Claire Thom offered to be his donor and was found to be a match.
