A WEBSITE has been launched to compliment a campaign to protect 14,000 girls against cervical cancer in the Lothians.
The Scottish Government has created the site –
www.fightcervicalcancer.org.uk – to go alongside brochures that have gone out to schoolgirls across the region.
The campaign immunises girls between the age of 12 and 17 against the human papilloma virus, which virtually ensures recipients do not get the virus that causes around 70 per cent of cervical cancer cases.
It is predicted the vaccine will prevent thousands of cervical cancer cases in coming years, saving hundreds of lives across the Lothians.
