New health centre boost for Lothians
A NEW multi-million-pound health and community centre is set to be built in the Lothians.
Council officials and health chiefs have announced that the work, which will start on the £7.2 million scheme in the coming weeks, will see a new health centre and community campus built in Fauldhouse.
The new centre will include two GP practices, a dental surgery and a pharmacy, as well as a swimming pool and fitness centre.
NHS Lothian chairman Charles Winstanley said: "I am delighted that the plans for the new Fauldhouse Partnership Centre are moving forward. This development demonstrates our continued investment in healthcare services in West Lothian and the success of our relationship with the council."
David Kelly, director of the West Lothian community health and care partnership, added: "The addition of fully equipped dental services will bring these services into the community for the first time and will be a great asset in helping to improve children's dental health in particular."
