Hundred stand still to highlight HIV

MORE than 100 Red Cross campaigners stood still in unison in Glasgow yesterday to raise awareness of HIV.
The "flashmob" event, to mark World Aids Day today, brought shoppers on Buchanan Street to a halt as the campaigners stood statue-like in the act of handing condoms and red ribbons to each other. About 77,400 people in the UK are living with HIV.

They had ought to standstill. This government is about to throw away £6billion for HIV abroad.
Here we are banks and businesses failing unemployment soaring massive budget deficits We simply cannot afford it.

No doublt the corrupt african nations will get most to support their unfunded sexual activity and to fund tribal warfare with no doubt a big slice going to Swiss bank accounts.
India will also get a big slice to help it fund its Space program and nuclear war with Pakistan.

Whether any HIV funds go to these nations or not common sense says WE CANNOT AFFORD IT.

Well. Who would even know that it is World Aids Day ???? Every country should deal with their own health Crisis' That's what I think. Everyone should sit back and say "what are we doing her to help our own" that is what is really important. Global help at this point makes us all the poorer. We're sinking; does this help our economy ???

#1 First of all, the $6 billion is not a UK promise, it is a global one, with the bulk of the money coming from the US, as ever.

Secondly, it is nothing more than convenient prejudice to describe African nations as "corrupt" and in one stroke deny their people the right to life and healthcare. There are lives being saved every day by people who are smarter, kinder and less selfish than you, and you don't deserve even to comment on them, let alone spread your ignorant prejudice.

We live in luxury, yes, even with the economic crisis. We can, and must, do whatever we are able to help those in suffering.

#2 It has sod all to do with the economy. It's about our common humanity. How hard is that to understand?

Half the HIV carriers in the UK are third world immigrants (mainly sub-Saharan Africa), and the others are mainly promiscuous homosexuals, costing the hard working UK taxpayer £400,000,000. There are indeed many moral questions to be asked here concerning section 15, and immigrant health screening.

Your posting is appalling because you reveal your ingrained racism and homophobia.

If you had done ANY research at all you would have been apprised of the fact that the majority of AIDS cases are now in the heterosexual population and there is under-reporting of the number of HIV and AIDS cases in China and India.

Intravenous drug users sharing dirty needles account for a great increase in the spread of the disease and Scotland certainly has enough of those. That is not to ignore addicts in other countries.

The level of your simplistic thinking is mind-boggling and I will use your own word to describe your thinking and that of your stupid and misinformed/uniformed ilk:
