DEMAND for Botox has soared almost 300 per cent in a year, the UK's largest provider of non-surgical treatments said yesterday.
Despite tough financial times sk:n, which has 31 clinics across the UK, said demand for Botox was up 287 per cent in a year, while dermal filler treatments increased by 205 per cent.

The company also saw a sixfold increase in bookings for acne treatments.

Jane Lewis, sk:n's development director, said: "The skin acts as a barometer for well-being so when the going gets tough it shows in the skin."

I suppose that, at your age Charlie, you'll be past caring about being a wrinkly.

#3 - Botox is a brand name for the botulinum toxin, which is in turn a rather poisonous protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium.

Some wacky people have it injected into their faces to create a minor and localised "paralysis"; ie. cause their facial muscles to relax which diminishes the appearance of wrinkles.

I say good luck to them, but I'll pass on it myself.

If anybody has seen Joan Rivers lately on her shopping show she shows the results of both facelifts (in the plural) and liberal injections of Botox, an extremely toxic "medicine" that kills flies and mosquitoes if they bite or inject you if you have been "Botoxed".

Ridiculous how some people will go to such unhealthy lengths to appear younger.

Doesn't anybody age gracefully any more?

Luckily, I inherited superior genes from both sides of my family and people usually give me anywhere from 15 to 20 years younger than I am WITHOUT any articial enhancements except for the occasional application of something to lighten slight darkenings under my eyes due to long hours of study and work.
