A MEMORIAL service is to be held at the school of a six-year-old boy found murdered in a car, it was announced yesterday.
The body of Paul Ross was discovered alongside that of his brother, Jay, two, in a parked car at a road entrance on the Lennoxtown-Fintry road, north of Glasgow on Saturday.

Liz Davidson, headteacher of Royston Primary School, where Paul was in p
rimary two, paid tribute to the "sweet boy".

She also revealed that a special service would be conducted at the school tomorrow. Pupils were still off school yesterday.

Ms Davidson said: "Royston Primary is a close-knit school and we will be ensuring that all the children here are given the support and care they require at this difficult time.

"Our former school chaplain, Russell McLarty, will be conducting a special service at the school on Thursday."

Letters will be sent out informing parents and inviting them to attend the service, she said.

As pupils return today, Ms Davidson said that the immediate focus will be to try to return a sense of normality to the school.

Ms Davidson added that the young boy's teacher, Paul Flannigan, who is in his mid-20s, was in his first teaching job.

She said he was a "very good teacher and had a very good relationship with all the children in that class. I know he will find this very harrowing."
