Man dies before murder appeal
A MAN who spent 34 years in jail protesting his innocence of a murder has died before the case could be concluded in the Court of Criminal Appeal.
The attempt by Richard Coubrough, 74, to clear his name could be continued if a "suitable person" applied.
Coubrough was convicted of murdering Dorothea Meechan, 37, in Renfrew in 1971. He was freed pending appeal in 2005.
