HUNDREDS of football shirts left after the death of soccer legend George Best are to be sent to deprived children in Africa.
The shirts are being given to children in war-torn Sierra Leone in west Africa by the George Best Foundation.
Shirts of various Irish, English and Scottish teams were left in the front garden at the Belfast home of Best's father, Dickie.
They included Hibernian strips, left by fans to mark Best's time at Easter Road.
Best's sister, Barbara McNarry, said she could not believe how supportive people had been in the wake of the football idol's death.
The jerseys were left in Belfast in tribute to the ex-Manchester United and Northern Ireland star after his death at the age of 59 last November.
