THE Apprentice, Outnumbered, Coronation Street, The X Factor, Skins and Wallander will go head to head for the only award chosen by the public at this year's television Baftas, the organisers announced yesterday.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts outlined the shortlist of nominated shows for the Philips Audience Award for the Best Programme of 2008. The prize is open to all genres of programme.

A panel of TV experts compiled the shortlist, which includes light entertainment, situation comedy, soap and drama.

Members of the public can cast their votes until 6pm on Saturday, 25 April.

The voting methods include going online to www.bafta.org/philipsaudienceaward.
