TV stars address the reality of racism with Capital pupils
X FACTOR finalist Nikitta Angus and Big Brother winner and Scottish Youth Parliament chairman John Loughton took part in a conference for secondary school pupils on racism.
A selection of 80 third-year pupils from secondaries in the Capital attended a meeting to discuss the impact of racism on their schools and communities.
The event was organised by the Edinburgh and Lothians Racial Equality Council's (ELREC), at Our Dynamic Earth, yesterday.
Nina Giles, director of ELREC, said: "As a result of the positive feedback from people who attended the conference last year, we felt it is important that more young people should benefit from a conference where they can talk frankly about their perceptions of community relations in Scotland.
"This year we will hope to see more collective actions within schools developed by young people in taking steps to improve the race relations of our country."
