A NEW production for this year's Fringe takes its inspiration from the Battle of Prestonpans.
The Battle of Pots 'n' Pans focuses on the campaign of September 1745, before the famous Battle of Culloden, and explores the parallels between modern sectarianism and the divided loyalties and prejudices which abounded in the days of Bonnie Prince Charlie.

It is a collaboration between East Lothian artists inspired by the Prestonpans campaign to have the battle site protected.

The play is being staged at St Cuthbert's Parish Church between August 4 and 10.
