Hogmanay 'staying Unique'

A THREE-YEAR contract to produce Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations is set to be awarded to the company that has been involved with the event since its inception.
Unique Events, which is based in the capital, has been selected as preferred bidder ahead of an English company, Event International. Councillors are expected to rubber-stamp a the decision this month.

Unique Events has programmed the Hogmanay festival since it was first organised 15 years ago.

Pete Irvine, the director of Unique Event, said last night that work would begin immediately on the planning for the next three years of the festival.
