Top swimmers to start games

SCOTS Olympic swimming hopefuls were today set to kick-off Edinburgh's biggest ever youth sports event.
Kris Gilchrist, Gregor Tait and Kirsty Balfour, who are in training for this year's games in Beijing, were due to join more than 1600 children for a day of sports in the Edinburgh Airport Youth Games.

Gymnastics display team The Spartans, Forth One presenter Mark Martin and rugby players David Callum and Craig Hamilton were also set to join the pre-games warm-up at Meadowbank today.
