A STUDENT at an Edinburgh university will see her coffee table design on sale across the UK after taking the top prize in a national competition.
Kimberly Whitelaw, 23, who is in the final year of a design course at Napier University, won the Design for Dwell contest.

Her table, which comes with a sliding cushioned footrest, will now be produced and sold in Dwell stores.

She said: "I am delighted that my design has been chosen and I'm really looking forward to seeing my final design displayed in Dwell shops.

"Knowing that my coffee table will be in homes around the UK is very exciting and a great starting point for my career."

Will Titley, lecturer in design at Napier, added: "The Dwell competition was perfect for us. They have very high design ideals but sell practical products and wanted a design that would sit well within their product range."
