Maritime talks to dock in city

NAPIER University is co-ordinating a conference on maritime education and training in Europe.
The university's Transport Research Institute is bringing together 15 European countries to discuss key issues, including the role of maritime education in boosting global trade. Experts from maritime training institutes in Spain, Germany, Norway and the UK will make presentations.

Conference organiser, Napier's Professor Alf Baird, said: "The maritime industry is vitally important for Scotland's economic competitiveness and we hope to learn from best practice elsewhere to ensure our competitiveness can be further improved in future."
