PROFESSOR Dario Alessi of Dundee University’s college of life sciences has been elected a fellow of the Royal Society of London, the highest accolade that a UK scientist can receive. Alessi’s election recognises his contributions to the understanding of how mutations in particular enzymes cause diabetes, cancer and hypertension.
