Planning chiefs stall over ruling on Botanics' illegal car park
APPROVAL for an illegal extension to a staff car park at the Royal Botanic Garden has been withheld, with the city council looking for more information.
The spaces were extended into the Botanics' nursery on Inverleith Avenue South last year, but following objections from residents, city officials ruled the attraction would have to seek planning permission for the new spaces.
Members of the planning committee visited the site earlier this month, but were again unable to reach a decision on the application yesterday. They have now asked for clarification on who is using the car park, and other parking spaces in the area.
