Population prediction 'highlights need for housing'

A HOMELESS charity said news that the number of households in Edinburgh is to rocket highlights the "pressing" need for more housing.
Figures released this week predicted a 35 per cent rise in the number of households in the Capital over the next 25 year.

Archie Stoddart, director of Shelter Scotland, said the number of one-adult households is also set to double.

He added: "With an ageing population we need to ensure enough homes for working age people stay in this country to generate wealth for the nation."

Edinburgh not that many decades away from being Scotland's largest city, not just physically (which it already is) but in population terms. A real capital.
