ENVIRONMENTAL charity WWF Scotland has paid tribute to the thousands of people in Edinburgh who responded to a consultation on a Climate Change Bill.
WWF's climate change campaign, which included a stall in Edinburgh city centre where hundreds signed postcards backing a strong Bill, generated nearly 20,000 responses.

The bill's consultation is the biggest-ever response to a consultation on a Scottish bill, after the smoking in public places bill.

The Climate Bill is due to be introduced into parliament in December.

Dr Dan Barlow, head of policy at WWF Scotland said: "The public response calling for a strong Scottish Climate Bill is staggering and it shows the strength of support at home and abroad for governments to take meaningful action to tackle climate change.

"The eyes of the world are on Scotland now and the Scottish Government must heed these wishes.

"This Bill may be the most important piece of Scottish legislation we will see in our lifetimes. Scotland is already leading with a pledge to reduce climate emissions by 80 per cent by 2050."

"This Bill may be the most important piece of Scottish legislation we will see in our lifetimes. Scotland is already leading with a pledge to reduce climate emissions by 80 per cent by 2050."

Scotland will be an economic basket case if it proceeds with this form of suicidal legislation. Why the hell do the soft-brained politicians continue to listen to the eco-loonies? Would they take advice from the Nazis, the BNP or Al Quaida? No, so why listen to the likes of WWF or FoE who have as anti-human agenda as any terrorist group?
