Death crash biker named

A MOTORCYLIST from Edinburgh killed on a remote country road has been named by police.
Duncan Cowan, 51, of Bonnington Road, was riding a Kawasaki 900cc motorbike when he was involved in an accident in the Borders. No other vehicles were involved and the council worker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened on Thursday evening on the A708 Selkirk to St Mary's Loch road.

A police spokeswoman said: "A full accident investigation was carried out and the road was closed for approximately four hours."
