A COUPLE are to sue Boots the Chemist after a rolling pin fell three stories from a window and smashed the skull of their 18-month-old baby.
Alyssa Burns is recovering after the accident in Dundee earlier this month. Her parents say their normally "happy, social" child has become insular and frightened.

John-Paul and Claire Burns, from Lochgelly, Fife, said they were "disgusted" at their treatment by the chain, which owns the property where the heavy, industrial rolling pin fell from a canteen.

They are taking legal action in a bid to find out how the accident was allowed to happen and to force the pharmacy giant to admit liability.

Mr Burns said: "We have repeatedly asked for answers but we are still in the dark."

A spokeswoman for Boots said: "We will fully co-operate with any legal action the family wish to take."
