SOME 70 per cent of Britons believe devolution has been good for Scotland, a new poll suggested yesterday.
The survey was carried out in England, Wales and Scotland to mark the tenth anniversary of elections to the Scottish Parliament. It showed 31 per cent of people in England and Wales believed Scotland received too much money from the UK, compared with 3 per cent in Scotland.

Sure devolution is good and it is a live process, Independence, more than ever, is the ideal.

If independence is the "ideal" why is the SNP not bursting a gut to move it forward?
Seems to me that the majority of Scots don't want it!

That would be silly when they are so much better than the opposition. The Nats have time on their side and the SLAB party are in self destruct mode.

It would be politically naive to call the referendum too early, he has the other parties trying to guess how little Fiscal Autonomy they can get away with.

If they were truly pro Scotland they could easily out bid the Nats with full autonomy.

#TWC: "If they were truly pro Scotland"

Absolutely correct - All 'Scots' British Unionists (aka British Nationalists) are by implication anti-Scottish. Their raison-detre depends entirely on Scotland continuing as a non-recognised nation (i.e. a mere regional area within a nation). As far as all other recognised nations and supra-national organisations (EU, UN, Arctic Council etc ect) are concerned, Scotland does not exist. If the country is not recognised by other countries, it might as well not exist.

The only remedy that can be used to ensure Scotland (or any nation for that matter) exists as a nation is independence. 'Scots' British Nationalists are most definitely anti-Scottish; these people abhor the very existence of a Scottish nation as to do so would mean the end of their beloved 'British' (i.e. UKofGB&NI) nation.

Devolved government, like the very Act of
Union itself, is now the accepted constitutional status quo, not only in Scotland, but also in Northern Ireland and Wales.

There is no other alternative to maintaining the constitutional integrity of this unitary state, and any future attempt to amend, restrict, or indeed, abolish the Scotland Act, Government of Wales Act and St. Andrews Agreement legislation, and recall powers to an antediluvian Westminster can only have one inevitable outcome!

The more I travel round Scotland the more I see just how Angliscised Scottish people are becoming; few young people have anything to show or say that they are Scottish other than I'm not English or I'm not British.
Is this really the country we want to have?

Why not call Scotland, Englandshire or North Britain again as this is what we are quickly becoming? All the tartan and kilts simply make us look like Harry Lauder.

Cor blimy guv'na, us Almondvale morris dancers resent you calling us Angliscised.

Now with your world-wise ways, perhaps you might explain what Angliscised is?
I'm sure my friends and family south of the border would appreciate your enlightening them.
What about Americanised, Ausified or Europeanised aswell, most wee Kylies & Brooklyns haven't the first idea?

'Scotland for the Scots', 'One nation, one people, one leader', got a familiar ring to it from somewhere, or was that your intention?

All that devolution has delivered is another layer of bureaucracy with excellent remuneration for the "chattering" classes. [Nice little earners & loads of stuff written off to "expenses"]. Nothing is really solved or done about Scotland's problems. Think about it.....even a faceless, non-elected Brussels bureaucrat has more say over our Land & Waters.
