Published Date: 20 May 2008
THE Dalai Lama arrived in Britain today amid outrage that he is not being received at Downing Street.
The Tibetan spiritual leader will attend Parliament to give evidence on human rights to MPs on the Foreign Affairs Committee during his 11-day trip.

Instead of the political setting called for by many, Prime Minister Gordon Brown will meet the Dalai Lama at Lambeth Palace, home of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

I'm outraged that there's not more outrage. Outrageous.

Brown won't receive the Dalai Lama in case trade with the Chinese is jeapordised. Blair had a Fraud Squad investigation of BEa and the Saudi Royals called off becausse it jeapordised a Auidi arms deal.

Wasn't this the Labour party who were elected on a new "Ethical Foreign Policy" in 1997?

This government has become a parody of itself.

So much for Brown's Kirk speech.

The caring Brown didn't even last a day, he is a charlatan and Tibet is to be cast aside due to other political priorities, like his seat in Bejing for the Olympics.

What did we do to get this unelected numpty for a leader?

Regrettably it was Buggins' turn. Turned out well hasn't it? Moral compass, son of the manse, saviour of all starving children, doing away with every known disease on the planet. Different bucket, same sh**.

Why should we be fawning over this Dalai Lama character? Perhaps we should concentrate on putting all our efforts into establishing democracy in Iraq (oops don't mention Iraq)before we decide that we're the guys to sort out Tibet.

Was the Dalai Lama expected to be asked to go to Downing Street, or is this all down to expectation of the pro tibet movement?

#8 Warden: Each time the Dalai Lama has visited Britain during Labour's time in office he's been received at Downing Street or Parliament.

Until now, when Britain has this uncharismatic, personality-bankrupt "son of the manse" occupying number 10.

read this article and weep for those Tibetans in Tibet, not the ones living in luxury in India with the head guy with the naked right arm'n'beads who spends all his time totting round the world sucking up to all the bigwigs with the cash like a latterday mother theresa.

A little less anger and a little more fiddling with the aerial might help reception.
