Johnson aide quits in racism row

ONE of Boris Johnson's senior advisers has quit after apparently remarking that Caribbean immigrants should go home if they do not like London.
The London Mayor insisted James McGrath was not a racist. But he said Mr McGrath, his political adviser, would only provide "ammunition" to the Tory mayor's critics if he remained in post.

The problem with the remarks really depends on the context and also the complaints that are being made by these immigrants.

The tory party does have an undercurrent of racism. Yesterday in the sunday herald there was the exposure of the a tory candidate for mp (already stood for msp) being a supporter of appartheid. Talking about Ian Smith, Rhodesia being his hero and also Enoch Powell.

With regard to the remarks made here. Firstly were they immigrants or were they born here. Also what where there complaints. If they were complaining about say racism or some associated issue. And this guy basically just said if u do not like being treated in such a way to go home, it is clearly racist. That article does not tell u enough to make any distingtion.

Is it not the case that he was asked if Boris being mayor would spark mass emigration of Caribbians?

Seems the question was racist in intent not the answer, is the interviewer to be charged for stirring up racial hatred?

Why is it impossible for people in a democratic country to express their views without some idiot (with an oversized inferiority complex) objecting and other idiots trying to suppress the right to free speech.


It is a fact the Enoch Powell in the '60s warned of strife and blood on the streets of Britain. Perhaps a bit exaggerated but with an element of truth. And for those wingers is a city like Manchester any safer to-day with the gunmen and Caribbean gangs running about, or East London with the almost daily knifings? 40 years ago the streets were a lot safer than they are to-day. Has anyone a clear answer?

And if foreigners don't like it let them clear off back to their own neck in the woods.

It wasnt a racist remark.
The U.k. has become a place where we no longer are able to think for ourselves.
People who come to the U.K. get many benefits and one of them is freedom from fear about giving opinions but something is very wrong with democracy .
Labours fault? not sure . The only thing I am sure of is.
