Conservative MEP in expenses row replaced as chief whip
ONE of the Conservative MEPs at the centre of a row over expenses has been replaced as the party's chief whip in Brussels.
Den Dover denies breaking any rules in paying his wife and daughter a reported £750,000 for work over nine years.
The Conservatives said the move was unrelated to the issue of expenses and was a "matter of course".
On Thursday, Giles Chichester, the party's leader in Brussels, was forced to quit after he admitted breaking rules on expenses.
Meanwhile, David Cameron, the Conservative leader, yesterday said he was sending Hugh Thomas, the party's head of financial compliance, to Brussels next week to sort out Tory MEPs' expenses.
