Eliza Forgan, 21, a student from Marchmont, reveals her top five places for a picnic.
Arthur's Seat I read somewhere that it was voted one of the top spots for a picnic and I couldn't agree more. It boasts some of the best views across the city and is tranquil yet in the heart of Edinburgh.

Portobello beach I was recently indulging my inner child with some fun time at the arcades and we decided to have lunch on the promenade. It was so lovely and such a sun trap as well.

The Royal Botanic Garden, Inverleith Row From the gardens to the wildlife I love this place to get away from it all. It's never too busy either and you can sneak a picnic in quite easily.

The Meadows It is the place to be as soon as the sun comes out. It's also great for people watching.

Bruntsfield Links The Links Bar makes this place and you can buy some ice cool beers to wash down those sarnies and catch up with some reading on the perfectly manicured lawns.
