WITH Gordon Brown's popularity ratings at record lows, what is more likely to endear himself to Labour's heartland voters: being seen to dine on an eight-course, 19-dish banquet alongside fellow world leaders at the G8 summit in Japan, or rolling up his sleeves and mixing it with the great unwashed in the East End of Glasgow?
Yet Mr Brown is expected to concentrate his efforts on the great affairs of state rather than dipping his toes in the muddy puddles of Glasgow East prior to the 24 July polling day. There are, after all, the "right long-term decisions" to be made.
