Ann Georgeson, 56, a housewife from Lochend, names her top five views in and around the Capital.
Calton Hill. The view from the top is unbeatable. You can see all the iconic buildings – the Scott Monument, The Balmoral and best of all, the Castle.

The Pentlands. It's relaxing to go up in the Pentlands, let the city get out of sight and see nothing but the green fields and sheep.

Edinburgh Castle. The view from either side of the Esplanade is worth seeing. On a clear day you can see across the Forth to Fife and from the back there's the iconic view of George Heriot's.

Arthur's Seat. From up here you can see the whole city stretching in front of you. It can be a bit of a hike but it seems justified when you see the view.

The Tower restaurant, Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street. If you get the right seat it's a nice place to see the Castle lit up at night. A bit pricey but good for a special occasion.
