CELTIC midfielder Barry Robson insists the "fear of failure" will drive him on to retain his first-team place next season.
The Scotland international joined the Parkhead side from Dundee United in January but not until the final weeks of the season, where Celtic came from behind to clinch their third straight Clydesdale Bank Premier League title, did he establish himself
as a first pick in the Hoops' engine room.
However, the 29-year-old expects everyone to start next season with a clean slate under manager Gordon Strachan and he insists he has it all to do again to pin down a regular place.
"I don't see myself as a first choice, not in the slightest," he said. "I have a fear of failure. I don't want to fail in anything I do and I suppose that's a good way of looking at things.
"Everyone is probably like that in the football club. We don't want to do badly because if you do then you won't be in the side.
"So I feel as though I am at the bottom of the ladder again and I need to climb it. That's the way I approach every season – it doesn't matter where I am.
Robson added: "I don't think I've achieved everything and I don't take anything for granted.
"It's about work and trying to force my way in."
