GOODY FEARS FOR FUTURE

REALITY TV star Jade Goody fears she may not live to see her sons grow up as she battles cancer, it was reported yesterday.
The mother of two, right, was told she had cervical cancer while in the Indian Big Brother house and immediately returned to the UK for treatment and tests.

According to reports, doctors warned Goody, 27, the tumour in her womb may have spread to
her bloodstream and she will undergo a hysterectomy next week.

She said she will need radiotherapy and chemotherapy and that without treatment she would be dead within three months. "I'm fighting for my life," she was reported as saying.

MAN ATTACKED

A 23-YEAR-old man was in a serious condition in hospital last night after he was attacked during a disturbance.

The incident took place on Friday night in Greenock's Grieve Road. The man, who has not been named, was taken to hospital where medical staff today described his condition as "serious".

Strathclyde Police are treating the attack as attempted murder.

CRASH DEATHS

A MAN died and five people were injured in a crash in the Highlands yesterday.

Northern Constabulary said the man died at the scene near Achmore on the A890 Auchtertyre to Stromeferry road at 7.50am.

Five occupants from the second vehicle were taken to Broadford Hospital, Skye, where their injuries were said not to be life-threatening.

In an earlier crash, a 19-year-old pedestrian was struck by a silver Ford Escort at around 12.15am on Balgownie Road, Aberdeen.

PUSHING CHARGE

A MAN was charged yesterday after a woman was pushed onto a railway line, British Transport Police said.

Lin Buchanan, 58, suffered a fractured wrist and bruising to her legs at Farningham Road Station in Kent following an altercation over smoking on August 6.

Ionel Rapisca, 30, of Dartford, Kent, was charged with grievous bodily harm, the BTP said. He was arrested and bailed five days after the incident, and was charged after being re-interviewed by police yesterday.
