RICKY Gervais is to appear in the US children's TV show Sesame Street.
In the episode, to be shot next month, the comedian sings a self-penned song to the puppet Elmo. Gervais said: "I've always liked the show, and as a failed rock star, I try to squeeze in the odd song when possible."
