CHRISTIE Brinkley and her fourth husband, the architect Peter Cook, settled their bitter divorce yesterday after a night of negotiations.
The former supermodel left a Long Island hotel looking shaken after their lawyers argued through the night in an effort to reach a deal.

The surprise agreement brought to an end the battle between the couple, who split two years ago when Brinkle
y, 54, discovered Mr Cook's affair with his then teenage assistant Diana Bianchi, now 21.

During the hearing, Mr Cook admitted spending $3,000 (£1,500) a month on internet porn and using a webcam to film himself performing sex acts online.

A psychiatrist testified that Mr Cook told him he slept with 35 women during the ten years he was married to Brinkley. Under the agreement, Brinkley will give Mr Cook $2.1 million but keep 18 properties in the Hamptons, worth about $60 million. Mr Cook will get access to their children.

In the first few days of the hearing Mr Cook, 49, was accused of being a bad father and a porn addict. The psychiatrist called him "self-destructive" and a "narcissist", but also said Brinkley needed therapy to control her anger and to examine her choices of men.

Brinkley has a 22-year-old daughter with her second husband, the singer Billy Joel. She had two children with Mr Cook, now aged ten and 13. Mr Cook told the court he gave Ms Bianchi a $300,000 pay-off after trysts in his office and at Brinkley's homes.
