BRITISH Airways is hoping to operate all its flights at Heathrow's beleaguered fifth terminal today for the first time since it opened 12 days ago.
The move came as pilots called for management changes at BA following the Terminal 5 "debacle".
Airline officials were keeping their fingers crossed after snow followed previous baggage problems in continuing to wreck timetables.
BA cancelled
another 42 flights at Terminal 5 yesterday as a knock-on effect of Sunday's snow, bringing the total since it opened to around 500.
Eight of yesterday's cancellations were Edinburgh services, including nearly half of the planned Heathrow-bound flights. One Glasgow-Heathrow service was also grounded.
The British Airline Pilots Association, which represents 3,000 BA pilots, demanded radical action from the firm. Jim McAuslan, its general secretary, said: "Failings on the opening days of T5 are symptomatic of BA's loss of focus in delivering a sound operation.
"The airline can and should make Britain proud but a fundamental change of attitude is required from the very highest levels of BA management."
The union has threatened strikes over BA launching a new subsidiary following the easing of restrictions over Europe-United States flights last week.
