A TEENAGE girl who tormented neighbours with blaring music has been hit with an Asbo in a move aimed at giving residents a "well-earned rest".
Tanita Ramsay was accused of playing loud music throughout the day and night, as well as slamming doors and shouting and swearing at her home.
The 17-year-old, who lives in St Martins Court in Haddington, East Lothian, was given the antisocial behaviour order at Haddington Sheriff Court yesterday.
The terms of the interim Asbo prevent her from acting in a manner that causes, or is likely to cause, alarm and distress to others.
Councillor Stuart Currie, the councillor's community services leader, said: "Legal proceedings are only progressed when we have exhausted all other avenues and given the individual every opportunity to change their ways.
"She has chosen to continue making the lives of those around her miserable. I hope that the interim Asbo will offer the neighbours some well-earned rest."
