James Lavelle's UNKLE has always placed a great deal of store in collaborations with other artists, but this record is perhaps less than the sum of the parts of Josh Homme (who is everywhere these days), and notorious film director Abel Ferrera.
The latter turns up doing a weird turn on 'Open Up Your Eyes, while Homme's heart just doesn't really sound like it is in it in 'Chemical'. Much better is Clayhill's Gavin Clarke giving a bit of body to 'Blade In The Back'. Sadly, the instrumentals are a bit random to really work well.
