CAMPAIGNERS calling for tougher controls on firearms have welcomed Scottish Government plans to host a special summit on gun laws.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill yesterday met Dr Mick North, whose daughter Sophie was killed in the Dunblane massacre, and Andy Morton and Sharon McMillan, who have been campaigning for a ban on airguns since the death of their two-year-old son Andrew.

Mr MacAskill spoke to them about his plans for a summit to examine how firearms legislation, including the law on airguns, could be reformed.

With laws in this area currently reserved to Westminster, the Justice Secretary has written to Home Secretary Jacqui Smith asking her to jointly host the event.

People of Britain (Scotland in particular) have been neutered by the anti-gun lobby. You will regret giving up your arms. You may as well bend over now and let the state do what it wants with you.

Anti-gun people are a bunch of hysterical, limp wristed noofters.

"Politicians love to disarm the peasants"

Didn't Adolf Hitler disarm his population?

"Gun crimes in England have almost doubled since 1997, when a ban on firearms began.
According to the Sunday Times of London, crimes in which guns were used numbered 4,671 in 2005-06."

#2 Well, as a keen shooter, I've e-mailed Kenny asking for an invite, so I'll keep you all posted as to whether or not he wants everyone's views or just these of the anti gun nuts.

Hysterical? Limp-wristed? Anti-gun nuts?

Surely ANY legislation which might help reduce events like those seen in Hungerford or Dunblane is a good thing! Surely ANY legislation which helps reduce teenagers shooting teenagers in inner city feuds is a good thing! Is ANY hobby more important than a young life?

Children's views are rarely voiced in Parliament, they rely on responsible adults to advocate for them. The voices of sixteen young children in Dunblane will never be heard so, for pity's sake, lets speak for them!
