Why is it assumed that 'women' are the only ones who are abused.
They're the experts with the 'tear in the eye' syndrome.

# According to the 2002 stats 90.4% of domestic abuse cases involved men absuing theri femal partners.

In the same stats 8.6% of men were abused by female partners.

The remaining 1% of cases were abuse in same-sex relationships.

Women are over tens times more likely to be in an absuive relationship compared to men. Moreover, because of the inequalities that still exist regards male and female earnings it is often easier for a man to walk out of an abusive realtionship than a women - that's why these refuges are needed.

Short term "solution" to a long term problem.

The ramifications of the removal of these safeguards is frightening and all women and men in Scotland should be appalled at this short-sighted and flawed lack of thinking.

Be prepared for increased violence and abuse and attendant social ills.

Lots of high-minded and palliative pronouncements to demonstrate just how dysfunctional some organisations truly are.

You have been warned.
