Lets hope Greyfriars Bobby takes pride of place before Gromit.
"Bobby's statue at the top of Candlemaker Row is one of the most photographed in the Capital"
Yeah, tell me about it!!! It's murder on that hairpin bend trying to manouever round dozens of flippin' tourists, snapping away with their cameras!!
My car gets parked at Chamber Street and I cross to get to Candlemaker Row on foot ... and these tourists are ALWAYS there! I've been nearly hit by cars dozens of times ... and I'm only trying to get to Deadhead Comic Shop!
Why can't they move the mangy old bronze mutt into the cemetery so pedestrians can manage this bit of the street without fear of getting hit by cars, lorries and buses!!!
Because he needs the pedestal to lift his leg against.Seriously though Bobby is the only real dog mentionedthe others if not cartoon, portrayed fictional dogs. The real canine heroes who didn't make film mogals a fortune are to be found in the pets cemetry at the castle or amoung the police, military, customs, workingdogs and guide dogs it's time they were recognised as well.
