Her admission that regulars are staying away is proof that a subsection of society is being marginalised.
I can honestly say that I go into bars, pubs, clubs etc. a lot more often since the ban. It's great!!! I can actually wear my jacket again the next morning as it doesn't stink from the effects of someone elses addictive behaviour.
#2 - deny it if you will but the picture is the same all over Scotland.
Another re-submission, but this article was just crying out for it.
The pubs are all Smoke FreeNo more will bad smoke beIn public places, it is banned
Smoke FreeSo wrong, claim the criticsIt's undemocraticSome smokers can't understand
We're FreeThe lawmakers tell usAs free as they'll let us beThe majority ...
Smoke FreeIt all sounds so easyFresh air, clean and breezyCos we're Smoke Free ...
ProblemsSo many arisingAnd much compromisingCould force some pubs to shut down
Smoke folksWho drink while they're smokingHate laws they're invokingIt's making those people frown
We're Free,That's what they all tell usAs free as the ocean roarsBut, my free's not yours ...
Smoke Free,As winds of insistanceFan flames of resistanceWe're here Smoke Free ...

This follows on from the article on Friday about the results of the ban 1 year on (very damaging to local pubs) . All the self satisfied non smokers I hope you enjoy the smoke free air on top of your pedestals, why couldn't the gov have a seperate smoking license for landlords who wish to actaully have some custom. Then all those non smoking joyless individuals could enjoy a 'crackless' smoke free environment with their other chump friends. TO be honest the kind of person who celebrates the lack of atmosphere at venues since the ban deserve to have their local close down due to lack of business - the good news is you won't have to wait long...
#6, you've got it! Have you noticed that pubs with beer gardens etc., seem to be populated inside with dour, silent, sour faced individuals 'enjoying' the smoke free atmosphere, while outside the place is jumping?
No doubt the health fascists will want beer gardens closed as well. Can't have people going to the pub and enjoying themselves, especially if they are smokers!
So much for choice and democracy.
South Africa has had smoking ban for a few years. The BIG difference is that you can enjoy a bar, or restaurant without someone else's smoke. I don't think a poll has been done, but the majority of people are for it. Plenty of smoking areas outside, but then again the weather is an advantage.

First, DO NOT call me a "liar"
Second, DO NOT call me "Timmy"
Third, DO NOT call me "Timmy boy"
Fourth, DO NOT call me a "First Class Snitcher" whatever that is and finally,
Fifth, DO NOT call me "old chap"
You are a self-important blowhard and I am going to get your posting removed because you have maligned and tried to embarrass me and there are libel laws, Colin from Banff.
#11: We haven't been watching Monty Python have we Timmy-Baby?
Do your worst, Timmy boy.
I'm sure I can handle it.
Re-read your post to Mikey. You were pretty damn libellous yourself.
People who live in glass houses, old chap, should not throw stones.
Like all anti smokers, you can dish it out but you cant take it.
Keep your "DO NOTS" to yourself.
I see that little Timmy-Kins is allowed to fire off at others but can't take it when they have a go back at him. some examples:-
"What a loser you are"
"...embarrass yourself by opening your uninformed pie-hole"
"You are a self-important blowhard"
Timmy, either learn to take as well as give or stop posting on this board.
Thank you, Moderator, for playing fair.
All true Eddie.
If it was sooooo great, why do they have to "enforce" it?
If smoke free pubs were needed, why didnt hey appear due to market forces?
If its so good, why spend millions of our tax on stupid, dehumanising adverts?
And, this is good, just how the hell can Dr Harry Burns, our oh-so-smart CMO claim that lung cancer will be eradicated in a single generation?!
Not only is it fantastic (if we forget the human, social, and economic damage), apparently every man, woman and child in Scotland agrees with it.
Its just too good to be true.
And I was always taught that if a thing was too good to be true, it usually wasnt.....
hey = they. Sorry.

Yes I heard how well the ban was going "not" on the radio
Fife does not sound to healthy buisness wise, in the clubs, pubs, bingo halls. How many restaurants do they need exactly. Then all the peeps will get fat, then Herr kerr flick'n'stir, will put a stop to that.
