Good tips, sure, but the Tories and Labour have no more than dipped their toes in the water of making this a sustainable country. In the medium-to-long term, as someone once said, There Is No Alternative.
Could someone please explain what a zero carbon home is?? Maybe I'm thick but I can't work it out. Or is it another one of Gordon's smoke and mirrors tricks?
All opinions on the matter welcome.
"Brown's paler shade of green" That's 'cause he knows he's toast come the next general election!
Another example of the Scotsman's bias against the Jambos!! (boo hoo)
#2 It's a house with no pencils in it silly!
Does anyone agree with me ?With the increasing amount of "concern" over our "Green Future" there is going to be an equally increasing amount of money made by large companies manufacturing "energy saving systems" that the public will not quite understand there purpose .Re increase in VED . The gentleman interviewed on TV on Wednesday evening summed this up perfectly ."If I can afford to buy a 4x4 at £50000 I can certainly afford £400 per year to tax it " !!
I rest my case !!
#4 'scuse my ignorance Phil but who are the Jambos? I know what Jambos are.
#6 However, if you can afford to buy a less fuel efficient Rolls Royce or similar, for around £100,000, then that makes you a toff, so you don't have to pay higher road tax.
I arrest your case.
#7 Cadgers
My kind of Jambos are supporters of the great Heart of Midlithuania FC. Everyone's trying to be green- yughh! Everyone's against us!
#4 Phil C. You could move to the Evening News then. that rag is packed with Jambos!!! Except for John Gibson, but he doesn't count!
#10 Scara
Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole! Should be called the 'Cosy wee Labour cooncil & Jambo Daily'. That's quite catchy!
#11 Phil C. Talking of cosy wee labour cooncil rags, has nobody else noticed that we are not being allowed to comment on much today, at least nothing important.
Is the Scotsman limiting us and our freedom of speech, or have all their IT people gone on holiday?
Guga
Yes, anything a bit controversial seems to be blocked. It's probably Media1 and AM's fault, clogging up the computers with their keech (or keich)....or maybe the IT team and all the usual posters are off to Hampden. Come on Scotland!
Phil C - wish I had a pint of what you've had. It might cure my hangover...
It's annoying me that you can't comment on other articles, cos there's sod-all I feel about anything else, enough to wax lyrical!
I'll have to wait for SoS tomorrow!
#15 Try the Herald site. There are quite a few things covered in that which aren't in the Scotsman, and a lot more to comment on.
Incidentally, I haven't noticed anything in the Scotsman about the Americans having passed a bit telling the war criminal Bush to bring all the troops home by next September.
This fella doesn't seem to be doing his bit to reduce greenhouse gasses:

will be convinced about Global Warming being down to human activity - when all politicians are driving around in tiny smart cars, living in zero carbon houses and taking cycling holidays.
Global Warming is the end result of hot air rising from the collection of buildings worldwide known as governments.
How green can a Nuclear UK be ???
19. fearghus, AucklandIt'll be an eary green glow.
